WILSON'S CAROLINA COOP
My Story
Years ago we had chickens for eggs and that was all. Thru the next 40 years I raised my kids and many animals in the meanwhile. Now my kids are raised and have blessed me with 10 grandkids to enjoy as much as I can. And even though I still have animals, I have followed my dream of having chickens again. The picture is of my great grandmother and name sake Margie in 1923 with her chickens.
This year I've worked on making sure my birds are kept clean and healthy. We feed them a hand mixed non gmo 5 grain scratch with a handmade laying mash and a high in protein all natural laying crumble. I have broody hen's and i also incubate my eggs. We are a small home hatchery, we hatch out around 150 eggs a month plus we have about 7-8 Silkie broodies. So I'm hands on from start to finish. I raise my birds as pets so they have good temperaments. I have tried to make sure im getting the best silkies, and bantams that i can so I can offer them to my customers.
